The Bukit Jambul Orchid Garden is located along Persiaran Bukit Jambul, close to Equatorial hotel and only five minutes drive away from the Penang International Airport. The orchid garden was created by two friends (horticulturist and herpetologist)
and thus specializes in hibiscuses and has a reptile house too. It also features some of the rare species like the giant orchid, Grammatophylum Speciosum.
The garden is beautifully landscaped and spans across two hectares. Apart from orchids, the orchid garden also features a collection of cacti, iguanas, terrapins (a bulky python), a 100 year old tortoise, a deer park and a pottery shop. Snake shows are hosted on weekends and public holidays.
The place is relaxing and soothing and offers a treasure of wildlife and tropical flora for the nature-lovers and adventurous tourists. Tourists looking for a deer park, a Japanese pond, a cactus garden, a tea kiosk or a pottery corner can get a package of their choice at the Orchid and Hibiscus Garden.
Visitors can enjoy a spectacular collection of hibiscus varieties, orchids and tropical flowers near a waterfall. The orchid and reptile farm is a treat to the nature-lovers and provides a wide variety to the interested eyes. Several plant sale areas are also made available for the plant enthusiasts.
